Vision Board Check-In: Are You Still on Track to Hit Your 2025 Goals?

We’ve officially entered the second half of the year, and whether we’re ready - the countdown to 2026 has begun.

Remember that energy you had back in January? You probably had your vision board laid out, affirmations posted, and big goals mapped out. But now, real life has settled in with work demands, unexpected expenses, family obligations and for many of us, the vision board has become more of a wall accessory than an active plan.

But here’s the thing: You still have time to make real progress. The year isn’t over. And this is your invitation to pause, reassess , and pivot where necessary, not just so you can feel good about checking a box, but so you can actually build the life you want.

Why You Need to Revisit Your Vision Mid-Year

A vision board or a goals list only works when you stay connected to it. Too often, we set goals and then expect motivation to carry us through the entire year but motivation can fade especially as different obstacles present themselves. What keeps you moving is clarity, discipline, and the ability to course correct when things aren’t going as planned.

By doing a mid-year check-in, you:

  • Reconnect with your “why”

  • Identify goals that are still aligned

  • Drop the ones that don’t serve you anymore

  • And set a clear focus for the next 4 months

Because let’s be honest, if you don’t check in now, the next check-in will be January 1st again, and we’re not doing that cycle anymore.

Step 1: Audit Your Vision Board or Goal List

Pull out your vision board, open your journal, or scroll to that note in your phone where you jotted down your 2025 intentions. Look at each goal and ask yourself:

  • Is this still important to me?

  • Have I made any progress?

  • What’s been blocking me? Time? Money? Fear? Lack of knowledge?

If the goal still matters, write it down again- physically. Writing things down triggers clarity and commitment.

Step 2: Focus on Progress, Not Perfection

Sometimes we abandon goals because we didn’t get the perfect start or because life threw us off track. But here’s the truth: progress compounds. Small wins like paying off one credit card, saving an extra $100 a month, or attending a professional workshop set the foundation for your bigger vision.

Instead of asking, “Why am I not there yet?”Ask: “What can I realistically accomplish in the next 30-60 days that moves me closer?”

Step 3: Adjust the Strategy, Not the Dream

Let’s say your goal was to purchase your first property this year, but interest rates are higher than you anticipated, or your finances aren’t quite where you need them to be. That doesn’t mean the goal is dead, it means the timeline or approach needs to shift.

Maybe instead of buying this year, you:

  • Work on increasing your credit score

  • Build a stronger savings cushion

  • Explore first-time homebuyer grants

  • Start building passive income streams to supplement your DTI (Debt-to-Income ratio)

Your vision remains intact the route just needs adjusting.

Step 4: Recommit With a Plan

A goal without a plan is just a dream. So as you revisit your vision board, create tangible next steps.

For every goal that’s still active, ask:

  1. What is the specific outcome I want?

  2. What are 1-2 actions I can take this month?

  3. What resource or support do I need to get there?

If your goal is to start investing, the action might be:

  • Open a Roth IRA

  • Read one book or attend a free webinar on investing

  • Schedule a consultation with a financial planner

If your goal is real estate, your action could be:

  • Pull your credit report and check for errors

  • Save for your down payment or closing costs

  • Attend a local real estate investing event

Step 5: Make It Visible Again

One of the reasons we forget about our goals is because they’re out of sight. If your vision board is collecting dust in a closet, pull it back out. If it’s digital, make it your phone wallpaper.

What you focus on grows. You need visual, daily reminders of where you’re headed. That’s what keeps your energy aligned with your goals, especially on days when you’re tired, overwhelmed, or doubting yourself.

Quick Tips to Stay on Track for the Rest of the Year

  1. Schedule Monthly Check-Ins: Don’t wait until December to reflect. Check in with yourself every month.

  2. Create Quarterly Themes: Focus on 1-2 major goals per quarter. Don’t overwhelm yourself trying to tackle everything at once.

  3. Reward Progress: Celebrate milestones — even if it’s just recognizing that you’ve stayed consistent.

  4. Find Accountability: Whether it’s a coach, a group chat, or a community, having people who keep you accountable makes a huge difference.

  5. Stay Educated: Read, attend workshops, follow experts in your area of interest. You can’t execute what you don’t understand.

A vision board is not a magic wand. But it is a declaration of what you’re committed to building. And commitment means staying the course even when the path changes.

You still have time. You don’t need to finish the year perfectly, you just need to finish it better positioned than when you started.

So, what goal are you recommitting to for the rest of 2025?
